Yamaha C3 Disklavier with Genio Premium Silent – Occasion from 1992

This 1992 Yamaha C3 is much more than a high-quality acoustic grand piano. The instrument comes from the Yamaha factory equipped with an original Disklavier system, allowing the grand piano to play fully automatically. Additionally, a Genio Premium Silent system was installed later. As a result, this special Yamaha can be played acoustically, perform music independently, and be used in silence with headphones.

The grand piano, with serial number 5060756, is in very good condition and is finished in classic high-gloss black. A versatile instrument for the serious pianist, but also a stylish source of live piano music at home or in a representative space.

The beloved Yamaha C3

For years, the Yamaha C3 has been one of the best-known and most appreciated grand piano models in the world. Thanks to its balanced size, the C3 offers more tonal depth and dynamic range than a compact salon grand, while remaining practical enough for use at home, in a teaching practice, or a studio.

Yamaha grand pianos are renowned for their reliable mechanics, direct playability, and clear, balanced sound. The C3 has sufficient power for a wide repertoire, but also offers the control and nuance required for refined piano playing. The clear treble, well-defined midtones, and solid bass combine to form a versatile sound palette.

Original Yamaha Disklavier system

This C3 was equipped at the factory with the original Yamaha Disklavier system. This mechanical, self-playing system actually sets the keys and pedals in motion. Therefore, you hear not just a digital recording from speakers, but the real acoustic grand piano playing live in the room.

This concerns an older generation of Disklavier that uses floppy disks. A collection of floppy disks containing varied musical material is included with the grand piano. This allows the instrument to perform various pieces independently, while you actually see the keys moving.

The Disklavier system makes this grand piano particularly attractive as a source of atmospheric live piano music. Consider use in a living room, reception area, restaurant, hotel, or other representative setting. Of course, the grand piano can also be played as a fully-fledged acoustic instrument.

Later equipped with Genio Premium Silent

In addition to the Disklavier system, this Yamaha C3 features a later-installed Genio Premium Silent system. In silent mode, the hammers are prevented from striking the strings. The pianist's touch is electronically registered and played back via headphones.

This allows you to practice at virtually any time without disturbing housemates, neighbors, or other people present. Outside of silent mode, the authentic acoustic sound of the Yamaha grand piano remains available.

The Genio system thus forms a practical modern addition to the original Disklavier system.

Three possibilities in one wing

This Yamaha C3 combines three different uses:

1. Playing acoustically – enjoy the natural sound and playability of a real Yamaha grand piano.
2. Let play automatically – the original Disklavier system plays the acoustic grand piano with moving keys and pedals.
3. Studying quietly – play with headphones via the Genio Premium Silent system.

It is precisely this combination that makes the instrument exceptionally versatile. It is a study grand piano, home grand piano, and self-playing musical instrument all in one.
