Yamaha G3 Grand Piano (1977)

Yamaha G3 – The classic 183 cm Yamaha grand piano

De Yamaha G3 belongs to the most beloved grand piano models Yamaha has ever built. With a length of 183 cm This grand piano offers an impressive balance between the compact dimensions of a home grand piano and the tonal reserves of a professional instrument.

The G3 was produced as part of the famous G-series, the predecessor of the current Yamaha C-series. Thanks to its reliable construction, precise mechanics, and powerful sound, these instruments are still highly sought after worldwide.

This Yamaha G3 with serial number 2432220 was built in 1977 in Japan and underwent an extensive restoration at Bol Piano's a few years ago. Afterwards, the grand piano was sold and stood with a private owner for several years. It has now returned to our collection and has been fully inspected and regulated again.

One of Yamaha's most successful wing models

The Yamaha G3 was built between the larger G2 and G5 models and grew into one of the most popular Yamaha grand pianos ever produced. The combination of a professional touch, excellent reliability, and a mature sound made this model popular with both conservatories and private pianists.

With its length of 183 cm, the G3 offers significantly more sound volume and depth than smaller home grand pianos.

Powerful Yamaha sound

The Yamaha G3 is known for its bright projection, fast response, and powerful dynamics.

Thanks to the longer string lengths and larger soundboard, this grand piano features:

✔️ Deep and powerful bass tones
✔️ Clear, singing treble
✔️ Great dynamic possibilities
✔️ Fast repetition and accurate keystroke
✔️ Excellent control for advanced players

This makes the G3 suitable for classical repertoire as well as jazz, pop, and professional use.

The predecessor of the Yamaha C-series

For many years, the G-series formed the foundation of Yamaha's wing production and was later succeeded by the well-known C-series. The construction, scale designs, and playing characteristics of the G3 still form the basis of many modern Yamaha grand pianos.

As a result, the G3 is often regarded as one of the most interesting Yamaha grand pianos on the used market.

Suitable for serious pianists

Due to its size and professional character, this Yamaha G3 is ideally suited for:

✔️ Advanced pianists
✔️ Conservatory students
✔️ Teachers and music studios
✔️ Small concert venues
✔️ Demanding home users

The combination of a mature sound and a relatively compact length makes the G3 one of the most versatile grand pianos in the Yamaha range.
